Welcome to the Spectrum Health Jump Jam Volunteer page! Thank you, in advance, for your willingness to give your time and talents to participate in Jump Jam.

 

Spectrum Health’s mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve. We take our mission seriously, it is central to our strategic discussions and guides our investments. Investing time and resources in Jump Jam is a natural fit with our mission.

 

Jumping rope is known as one of the most effective ways to get your heart pumping. According to WebMD, jumping rope for 15 minutes burns off as many calories as there are in a candy bar. Did you know that you would have to run an eight-minute mile to burn off the same number of calories as you would by jumping rope for 15 minutes?

 

We look forward to seeing you at the all-day Jump Jam event on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at DeVos Place.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES                                      

Jump Jam volunteer opportunity is exclusive to Spectrum Health employees and their family members 18 years of age and older as well as GRPS parents. We have outlined a brief description of the 3 volunteer opportunities that exist. Assignments will be made based on the need, but we will take your preferences into consideration. All volunteers are asked to attend a 1 hour training in advance of the event; all training options are outlined below in the registration form.

 

 

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS 

 

Team Liaison
Assigned to a team(s) to assist the coaches with student registration and supply distribution. The liaison will also escort the team to and from the competition floor at their assigned times and help in other ways as needed.

 

Counter
Use a handheld counter to determine the number of jumps each participant has accomplished during the competition. Each counter will be accompanied by 2 additional counters to ensure accuracy in the counts

 

Volunteer at Large
Assist in the distribution of lunches, snacks etc. for all participants. These volunteers will also serve as score sheet runners, assist with trophy distribution, and may be assigned to other areas throughout the day.

 

All volunteers will need to be at DeVos Hall Exhibit Hall C on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 7:30am on the day of the event. The estimated event time is 9:00am – 2:00pm.
